About the Board

Members of the Hoyt Arboretum Friends, Board of Directors, are volunteers committed to providing sustainable, accountable and collaborative leadership, planning, supervision and evaluation for all of HAF's operations to ensure it fulfills its mission, with an emphasis on raising funds, making friends, and enlisting volunteers for HAF and the Arboretum. Board members are elected by the membership of Hoyt Arboretum Friends to two-year terms and may serve a maximum of 3 terms.

A committee comprised of both Board members and other volunteers annually nominate people from the community to serve on the Board of Directors. Criteria for board service are a passion for the Arboretum's mission, willingness to work on a team to fundraise for the Arboretum, and willingness to assume fiduciary responsibilities for the governance and stewardship of HAF's resources.

The Board Development Committee encourages members to submit recommendations of people to serve on the Board.
