Research with Hoyt Arboretum Plant Materials

At Hoyt Arboretum, we strive to encourage and facilitate learning in the fields of botany, forestry and ecology. We see these fields as critical cornerstones in understanding and preserving our native landscape.

We do not support unmonitored collecting in Hoyt Arboretum. However, we are happy to work with you in obtaining and viewing specimens. Hoyt Arboretum is a partnership with the City of Portland and Hoyt Arboretum Friends; as such, we follow the City’s requirement for a Research on Park Properties Permit. This permit is issued by the City of Portland and will be respected by Hoyt Arboretum.

If any questions should arise, please contact our curator Martin Nicholson.
