Hug a Tree at Hoyt!

Last year nearly 1,000 Portlanders like you gathered at Hoyt Arboretum to have some fun in the sun. And set a Guinness World Record.

This year, we’re doing it again. Bigger. Better. Huggier.

Who? You and your friends

When? July 12, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

What? Setting a Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously hugging trees in one place!

And... Picnicking. Listening to live music. Playing games. Learning about the environment, sustainability, trees and more!

Why? Because Portland needs to show the world that we are the most tree hugging place around! Challengers have already attempted to break our tree hugging record, and there will undoubtedly be more. We need to put this record out of reach of the rest of the world!

How? Pre-registration is encouraged. Please sign up here.

Where? Meet us here.

Questions? Please email info@hoytarboretum.org.

How to Hug a Tree

Plant your feet firmly on the ground near a tree.

Not that way, the other way.

Extend arms out to sides. Make sure that you don't touch each other!

Step forward...

And hug!
