FROM DOWNTOWN PORTLAND (Driving):

~ Take SW Clay (a one-way street going West).  It will put you on a ramp to US 26. 

~Go through the tunnel and stay on US 26.

~ Take Exit #72 off US 26 toward the Zoo, Forestry Center & Vietnam Memorial.

~ Turn slight right onto SW Canyon Rd.

~ SW Canyon becomes Knights.  Continue up the hill towards Fairview.

~ Turn right onto SW Fairview Blvd.  Visitor Center is on your right hand-side at 4000  SW Fairview Blvd.

FROM DOWNTOWN PORTLAND (Public Transportation):

~ Take Tri-Met Bus #63 - Washington Park.  It makes a stop in front of the Visitor Center at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd.

~ Take the MAX train (east toward Beaverton) and get off at the Zoo Station.  Walk north, uphill from the Zoo.  Take the Overlook Trail (paved) or the Wildwood Trail to the Visitor Center at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd.

Note:  From Memorial Day until Labor Day Tri-Met operates a shuttle in Washington Park that makes a continuous loop from the Zoo area to the Arboretum, to the Rose Garden and Japanese Garden area and back to the Zoo.  It runs about every 20 minutes.

FROM THE NORTH (Driving):

~ Take I-5 toward Portland.

~ When entering the Portland area merge onto I-405 S via Exit # 302B.     

~ Merge onto US-26 W via exit #1D toward Beaverton. 

~ Take Exit #72 off US 26 toward the Zoo, Forestry Center & Vietnam Memorial.

~ Turn slight right onto SW Canyon Rd.

~ SW Canyon becomes Knights.  Continue up the hill towards Fairview.

~ Turn right onto SW Fairview Blvd.  Visitor Center is on your right hand side at 4000  SW Fairview Blvd.

FROM THE SOUTH (Driving):  

~ Take I-5 North to Portland. 

~ Take I-405 Exit 299B as you enter the city.  Sign will say City Center/US 26W/Beaverton. 

~ Merge onto US -26 W via exit number 1D toward Beaverton.   

~ Take the Zoo/Forestry Center/Vietnam Memorial exit  

~ Take a slight right  onto SW Canyon Rd.  

~ SW Canyon becomes SW Knights.  Continue up the hill towards Fairview.

~ Turn right onto SW Fairview.  Visitor Center is on the right hand side at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd.

FROM THE WEST (Driving):

~ From Hwy. 101 (Oregon Coast Highway) at Lincoln City

Merge onto OR-18 Salmon River Highway.  Continue for approximately 27 miles.

~ Merge onto OR-22 E toward Salem. 

~ Take OR 22 W exit to the left.

~ Turn right onto Front St. NE/OR 99E BR/Salem Highway.  Continue for approximately 3 miles.

~ Merge onto I-5 N toward Portland. 

~ Take I-405 exit (299B) on the left toward City Center/US -26 W/Beaverton. 

~ Take Exit 72 toward Zoo/Forestry Center/Vietnam Memorial.  

~Turn slight right onto SW Canyon Road. 

~ SW Canyon becomes SW Knights.  Continue up the hill towards Fairview.

~ Turn right onto SW Fairview.  Visitor Center is on the right hand side at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd.

FROM THE EAST (Driving): 

~ Take I-84 West toward Portland. 

~ Merge onto I-5 S via the exit on the left toward City Center/US-26/Beaverton.

~ Take Exit #72 off 26 toward the Zoo/Forestry Center/Vietnam Memorial. 

~ Turn slight right onto SW Canyon Rd.

SW Canyon Rd. becomes SW Knights. Continue up the

hill to SW Fairview Blvd. 

~ Turn right onto SW Fairview.  Visitor Center is on your right hand side.
