Join others in a small class setting to make a cozy mug inspired by nature in this fun hand-building ceramic class. Angela, from The Nature Atelier, will guide you through the steps to turn a slab of clay into a usable work of art.  You will chose your favorite pieces of flora and natural items to create a textured design that represents the environment found at Hoyt Arboretum.

This class is beginner-friendly. Each participant will make one mug which will be fired, glazed, and returned at a later date.  Participants can pick-up their final piece from the Hoyt Arbroetum Visitor Center 3 to 4 weeks after the program date.

  • Space is limited, please register online in advance
  • Registration closes Saturday, October 10th at 4:00pm
  • Price includes material fee $20 includes the firing and clear glaze

About the instructor: Angela Ruggles is a nature and art educator and certified yoga instructor (RYT 500 & RCYT). She is the founder of The Nature Atelier, where she explores art, movement, and the environment to inspire a passion for protecting the planet. Angela has a background in museum education and paleoethnobotany and is a self-taught artist. She received an MS in International Museum Studies and a MA in Anthropological Archaeology.
