Winters in Portland are fotunately very green due to evergreen trees, ferns, and moss. Other plants, however, are bare and make identification more of a mystery. Join Ruth this month, to learn the clues to search for that make plant identification more manageable in the colder months. Class will start in the library with a brief presentation along with samples of key features to search for when identifying deciduous plants in the winter. Then bundle-up and walk outside during the remainder of time to practice identification on the trails with your instructor. Plan for walking on maintained, dirt trails.

  • Class size is limited and pre-registration is required
  • Registration closes Saturday, January 23rd at 4:00pm
  • Additional details will be emailed one week prior to the program

About the Instructor: Ruth Williams is a consulting arborist and plant enthusiast with degrees in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from UC Davis.
