Tree Removal In Progress
The Portland Parks & Recreation Dept. of Urban Forestry has identified 2 large Doug-firs around the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center as having Schweinitzii Root and Butt Rot. Arborists from Urban Forestry will be removing these trees on Monday, July 14.
During removals, the parking lots and street parking along Fairview Blvd adjacent to the Visitor Center will be closed off. The road will remain open with flaggers to direct traffic around the work site. If you plan on visiting the Arboretum that day, please plan ahead.
Road Closures
Due to a landslide and unsafe conditions, SW Tichner Dr., between West Burnside and SW Kingston Avenue, is closed to vehicle transportation. Only pedestrians may access SW Tichner Drive between West Burnside and SW Kingston Avenue using the sidewalk on the north side of SW Tichner Drive. People biking may also walk their bikes on the sidewalk.
