Set at the Bamboo Slope, Julian Saporiti will perform original songs rooted in the lives, histories, and ecological stories of the trees that surround you.

Bring a blanket or something to sit on, and plan to arrive a little early to settle into the space.

This concert is part of the Music in the Arboretum summer series, featuring site-specific performances by Julian Saporiti with vocal accompanist Emilia Halvorsen Saporiti at locations throughout Hoyt Arboretum.

All performances in this series are free and open to the public.

About the Artist

Since 2023, Julian Saporiti has been Hoyt Arboretum’s Musician-in-Residence.

A musician and scholar, his work bridges research, storytelling, and performance, transforming complex cultural and ecological histories into songs. At the Arboretum, he creates site-specific compositions rooted in botanical research and the lived experience of the landscape, connecting listeners to the living collections in new and unexpected ways.
