Trees For All Public Tours are held the first Sunday of every month through October.
This guided tour will be 1/2 mile along the paved trails around the Visitor Center and to the Viewpoint off Overlook Trail featuring angiosperms, gymnosperms, and native plants along the way.
This is a free tour. Please sign up at the front desk in the Visitor Center (10am-4pm daily), on the day of the tour.

Arrival:
There are two pay-to-park lots at the Visitor Center, 4000 SW Fairview Blvd. Parking costs $2/hour or $8/day and is enforced from 9:30am to 8pm daily, including holidays. Meters take credit cards and coins, or use Parking Kitty to pay with your phone (Zone 410).
There are 2 accessible parking spaces in each lot with an access aisle in between. From the upper lot, there are stairs and a ramp down to the meeting point for the tour in the Visitor Center Courtyard.
Alternative Transportation
The Washington Park Free Shuttle picks up and stops at the MAX station and loops around the whole park and stops in front of the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center. Shuttles run every 15 to 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. All Washington Park Shuttles are wheelchair accessible. Learn more about reduced cost and free transportation resources.

There are 2 restrooms located in the Visitor Center Courtyard.
The Trails
The start of the Visitor Center Loop trail is a transition from packed gravel to pavement.
The beginning of the Visitor Center Loop paved trail is 74 inches across.
There are some shallow bumps along this paved path.
There is 1 bench about 400 feet down this trail.
Past the bench and looping back toward the parking lot, there is some cracking and bumps in the pavement.
We will loop around the parking lot on sidewalks that are 52 inches in width and use the cross walk to enter Overlook Trail.
The beginning of Overlook Trail is 144 inches at its widest, and 90 inches at its narrowest.
There are some minor cracks in the pavement along this path.
At the top of the slope, there will be an optional detour on 350 feet of gravel to the Viewpoint off Overlook Trail.
On a clear day, the Viewpoint offers vistas of mountains and geological features.
Then return to the upper parking lot and Visitor Center along the same Overlook Trail.
