2013 Arborists in the Arboretum Day Volunteers

On Saturday, September 7, Hoyt Arboretum Friends hosted the 28th annual Arborists in the Arboretum Day, when professional arborists from the Portland metro area and beyond volunteer their time and expertise to care for Hoyt Arboretum's trees.

This year, nearly 60 arborists representing more than 25 companies volunteered for Arborists in the Arboretum Day. We want to express our sincere thanks to the generous arborists who support Hoyt Arboretum!

What is Arborists in the Arboretum Day?

Once a year our arborists friends from the Portland metro area gather up their tools and swing up to Hoyt for our annual Arborists in the Arboretum Day. Each arborist spends their precious Saturday lending their experience and expertise in the careful care of our collections. We are thrilled to host this boisterous group of colleagues and are amazed at the skill and accuracy with which they do their work.

While this event is closed to only our arborist volunteers, feel free to stop by and watch them work - from a safe distance - in the collections. They will be visiting us again on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 8am until 12pm.
