Good soil is foundational for a lush and healthy garden.  You can’t put on enough water and fertilizer to make up for poor soil.  This workshop will describe the basic components of soil, how to determine what kind of soil is already in your yard, and how to make it better.

The instructor Rod Smith received his Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Iowa State University and has 45 years of experience working at orchards, nurseries and landscaping.  He has taught Home Gardening classes at Portland Community College since 1993.

All lectures will be recorded and available to participants for 48hrs following the class.
