Nature connection and creative expression meet in these weekly Nature Journaling experiences led by artist Elizabeth Higgins. With prompts and gentle guidance, students will explore a different area of the Arboretum each week, recording their observations and inspirations through writing and drawing exercises centered on themes of appreciation and curiosity. No experience is necessary.

Participants will meet in front of the Visitor Center and from there, hike out to various parts of the park with their materials. Most of the tour route will travel on well-graded packed dirt or gravel trails. The route is approximately 1 mile and will include some ups and downs along the way.

Bring a sketchbook, writing tools and any other painting or drawing supplies you enjoy using. Dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes for walking on trails. If you wish, please bring something small and lightweight to sit on the ground with, such as a towel or small blanket.

Pre-registration is required. Visit the September 6th listing to register for the 4 week series.
