Although Hoyt Arboretum is known for its world-class collections of trees from around the world, it is also home to an impressive array of native species. Join us on the conifer side of the arboretum for this tour of Northwest native trees. Broadleaf trees will be just leafing out so the tour will focus on conifers and address questions like: what is the difference between a conifer and broadleaf tree? Why does the Northwest have so many conifers? Why do our conifers grow so incredibly large? How do our native trees compare to their counterparts around the world? If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the Northwest’s trees and what makes our forests unique, this tour is for you!

Tours occur rain or shine. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes for walking on trails, and bring your camera to take photographs! Registration is not required; please meet at the Visitor Center at noon.

All tours are free during April!
