When the root is deep, there is no need to fear the wind.

Many tai chi moves use images from nature—stable as a pine, flowing like a river, hands moving as clouds. Enjoying tai chi at Hoyt Arboretum allows us to connect deeply to that imagery. Each week we will explore a few tai chi moves which are relaxing, help improve focus and balance, and nurture rooted in the moment. No experience is necessary; only an interest in exploring the many benefits of tai chi.

Class size is limited to 10 participants; registration is required. Classes are typically held at the Stevens Pavilion but are sometimes scheduled at other locations around the park.

Please note the new class start time beginning in September. Participants should plan to arrive 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time to check in. Please plan to bring your own water and any other supplies that you need.

Face masks are required for outdoor programs in Portland parks when physical distancing is not possible. If you are feeling any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay safe and stay home.
