Oh those conifers are a unique bunch! From trees that mimic berries to giants that live for millennia, conifers have been around for a long time and developed some amazing life strategies. This walk will take a stroll through the diverse conifer collection at Hoyt Arboretum and discuss how these unique trees have adapted and changed over evolutionary time, and we’ll see all the clever ways they’ve learned to thrive today.

About the instructor: Casey Clapp is the co-creator and co-host of the podcast Completely Arbortrary, a weekly podcast about trees and other related topics. An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Casey is a modern naturalist focused on education and science communication centered around trees and their impact on the world around them. He specializes in urban forestry and arboriculture and is passionate about sharing his love of trees with the people around him.
