This is a new program catered to youth 5+, all ages welcome.
Created and led by Juno Chimera (he/they), Equity Nature Educator at Hoyt Arboretum Friends, serving through AmeriCorps and Confluence Environmental.
In this workshop series, we will engage in a number of hands-on activities, attuning our senses to the ways in which birds communicate and exist amongst us. We will also explore some of the critical roles birds play in our ecosystems.
Part 1 is focused on widening our periphery and sharpening our bird vision. Not only will we practice identifying some of the more common backyard birds (through color), we will also explore what their shapes and features can tell us about their lifestyles.
