1. Seasonal Interest Tours

Our Seasonal Interest tours highlight the must-see plants of our three nationally-accredited collections at Hoyt Arboretum at their best time of year.

Walk the trails to the Redwood Deck and Overlook Viewpoint and stop to appreciate some cool plants along the way. Gaze across the valley at Mount St. Helens on a clear day, learn about living fossils like the Wollemi Pine, and get a group photo at the Redwood Deck.

3. Trees for All Tour

Our Trees for All Tour takes visitors on a paved route through the Arboretum, while still showcasing all of the beauty our park has to offer.

Travel around the Visitor Center Loop and on to the Overlook Trail while learning about angiosperms, gymnosperms, and some of our fabulous native plants. This tour takes place on fully-paved trails and is about a half-mile long. For a more detailed trail description and photos, click here.

4. Guided Hikes

If you’re looking to hike through the Arboretum with minimal stops, request a Guided Hike.

Trek along two to four of our 12 miles of trails with one of our amazing Hike Leaders, while you peacefully enjoy the scenery or chat with your group. Hikers can expect a variety of terrain, with paved, packed dirt, and gravel trails. There will be some ups and downs with occasional stairs depending on your route.

Parking & Getting Here

Hoyt Arboretum has two pay-to-park lots located near the Visitor Center. There is also limited free parking available along SW Fairview Blvd. Washington Park is also conveniently located off the MAX Red and Blue lines, and we can accommodate bus drop-off in front of the Visitor Center. We strongly encourage carpooling, bussing, or taking public transit due to our limited space, especially for larger groups. Click here for more details on planning your visit.

Bathrooms and Water Fountains
Bathrooms and water fountains are located next to the Visitor Center entrance in front of the building. We have two individual, wheelchair accessible bathrooms that are open daily. Please note that these are the only bathrooms in the park.
