Stevens Pavilion

Stevens Pavilion

Located just off of Fairview Boulevard across from the Visitor Center, the Stevens Pavilion is Hoyt Arboretum’s only picnic shelter and its most iconic structure.

The Stevens Pavilion is a wooden A-frame picnic shelter open on all four sides to views of towering Douglas-firs. The Pavilion is a great setting for company picnics, family gatherings, and other special events, but it is especially popular for Portland weddings. The Pavilion has 10 permanently affixed picnic tables (6 under cover) that cannot be moved and is ADA accessible. Located across the street from the Visitor Center, drinking fountains, and restrooms. 110-volt electrical outlets at the site.

Important Note About 2026 Dates

Please note that the Stone Circle at Hoyt Arboretum will be unavailable for permit reservations during 2026 due to a trail improvement project nearby.

Stevens Pavilion will only be available weekends effective January 1, 2026, and will transition into full closure September 14, 2026.

While the Stevens Pavilion, Redwood Deck and the Wedding Meadow are still available for permit reservations, it is possible that the sound from heavy equipment may be audible on occasion on weekdays during the late spring, summer and fall. The work site is about 1/3 of a mile from the Redwood Deck and there won’t be any visual impacts of the project at the Wedding Meadow and the Redwood Deck, however equipment storage and fencing will be visible from Stevens Pavilion.

Normal cancellation and refund guidelines apply.
